From a National Insurance Brokerage to the workganic™ Cloud
In 1981, my father founded a life insurance brokerage dedicated to helping families navigate their insurance needs. Back then, the business relied on an old DOS program called Q&A, which I remember fondly for its “magical” ability to generate personalized letters with customers’ names. In the 80s and 90s, that kind of automation felt revolutionary, and it sparked my early fascination with technology’s potential to make business more efficient and personal.
I joined the family business in 1999, and we continued using Q&A daily until 2006, when I began making sales calls myself. That’s when I realized there had to be a better way to manage clients, leads, and workflows. With input from my brother and our close friend Scott—a talented computer programmer and software engineer—we started building custom Excel spreadsheets with macros. Those early tools helped us streamline our operations, and we even sold a few copies to other agents. But they were limited; they couldn’t handle the full scope of what we dreamed a true CRM could do for insurance professionals.
In 2009, we made the leap: We stopped reselling spreadsheets and invested in building our own multi-dimensional web app, powered by robust databases. Workganic was born from real-world needs—designed by insurance agents, for insurance agents. It evolved to handle everything from client management and compliance to telephone calls, text messages, letters for print and seamless integrations, all in one secure, user-friendly platform.
Now, 20 years after selling our first spreadsheet CRM, we’re excited to share the Workganic Cloud with fellow insurance agents and sales professionals.
Our goal is simple: To give you the tools to focus on what you do best—serving your clients—while we handle the rest.
